Karen received her BFA in graphic design from the University of Michigan. After five years in the Chicago corporate design world and a year volunteering full-time down south with Habitat for Humanity, Karen founded 501creative.
Karen is still crazy about summer camp and is on the board of Camp for All Kids. She lives in U-City and spends her spare time with husband Marc Hirshman and daughters Abby and Emily. Karen likes biking trips, bootcamp and swimming at 5:30 am, home-grown tomatoes and basil, campfires, iced coffee and candy (especially Hot Tamales and Mike & Ikes). Those of you who know about Karen & Marc's experiences with altitude sickness will be glad to know that they seem to stay healthy at sea level. This past summer's adventure involved biking in Maine.
