Strategic Messaging for Nonprofits

Nonprofits have to compete harder than ever to win the attention of a media-saturated public. That's why it's crucial for nonprofits to develop strategic messaging.

Strategic messaging is a focused attempt to reach an audience with a clear, consistent message. It keeps you in control of your message and uses your organization's resources to its best advantage. Strategic messaging helps you say it right – every time – to your audiences.

Send Me St. Louis Messaging

Send Me St. Louis helps congregations expand their volunteer bases to serve their congregations and communities. The organization was struggling to explain their services in a concise and engaging way.

We worked with the board and staff to develop a comprehensive communications plan that streamlined outreach efforts and strengthened messaging to target audiences. Together, we developed the tagline, “Reach out. Build within,” to encourage pastors to build stronger, more engaged congregations through volunteer service. We then hosted a focus group with pastors and lay leaders to further refine the messaging and positioning statements and updated their website and brochure to reflect the new messaging.
